The key principle: "You're not testing 'should we talk about speed or should we talk about quality.' You've already decided the angle. Now you're testing specific execution of that angle."

When you test unrelated creative directions simultaneously, you learn nothing transferable between tests. A creative family ensures that every data point builds on the last because the core message stays constant while execution details change.

Daily micro testing is the engine that powers the creative family. A small, dedicated testing budget rotates through new variations daily. Step 1: Define Your Core Angle

Purpose: Lock in the single narrative, angle, and positioning that will unify all creative variations. Everything flows from this decision.

Tell the user: "Before we test anything, we need one core angle. This is the single narrative that every ad variation will share. Think of it as the thesis — every test is a different way of presenting that same thesis."

Angle categories to choose from:

  • Specific pain point — Lead with the problem your audience is desperate to solve
  • Transformation narrative — Show the before/after journey your offer delivers

Example: A B2B software company chose this angle: "Operators who've built the system you're trying to build, explaining how it actually works." Every variation shares this core narrative — different operators, different problem statements, different visual treatments — but the angle never changes.

Lock in the angle before continuing. Write it down as a single sentence. If it takes more than two sentences to explain the angle, it's not focused enough.


Step 2: Identify Testing Variables
